Leave ordinary behind.
Better events grow on purpose.
From strategy to execution.
We deliver creativity, capability
and standout results.
Why choose
ExtraRad?
Real experience. Real outcomes.
Everything we offer has been tested, refined and delivered under real-world pressure. We've sat in the operator chair, the regional leadership chair, the CEO chair, and the boardroom. Judged by what changes: events that lead, teams that thrive and brands that get talked about.
Strategy and execution. Same hands.
We think big, and deliver at all levels. The thinking, the doing, and the delivery, all from the same team. Five-year growth roadmaps and the marketing pipeline that delivers against them. Risk frameworks and the event control centre that runs them. Governance structures and the team capability to hold them.
Standout brands. Compounding growth.
Sustainable events grow over time on purpose. The brand sharpens. The experience deepens. The audience returns, and brings their friends. The team performs at a high level. The events we work with stand out first. Then they compound. Our work gets noticed because it's designed to.

Our programs are designed to level up your internal teams. Through 1-on-1 mentorship and team workshops, we build your capability so you can plan with more confidence.
What that looks like in practice:
1:1 mentoring
Team workshops on strategy, risk, marketing, and high-performance team building
Capability programmes for building event teams from scratch
Bespoke training, like the risk management course we built and delivered for World Triathlon
Behind the scenes.
Chris Randle is passionate about developing better events and a thriving industry. In his own words...
I've spent 22 years delivering events at every scale, and I started in an unlikely place. My first seven years were in client-side project management on £bn UK infrastructure programmes at Network Rail and Crossrail, before joining the delivery team for the London 2012 Olympics in the Olympic Park common domain.
In 2013 I moved to New Zealand to lead the World Triathlon Series Auckland for Lagardère Unlimited, launched the Queenstown Marathon, and consulted on Gold Coast Marathon development. When IRONMAN Group acquired Lagardère in 2016, I became Regional Director for New Zealand. Accountable for the entire national portfolio: IRONMAN New Zealand, Taupō 70.3, the Auckland and Queenstown Marathons, the Tarawera Ultramarathon, and The Pioneer MTB stage race. I created the Hawke's Bay Marathon, was involved in the acquisition of Tarawera, and led service delivery for all cycling and athletics road running at the World Masters Games 2017.
I launched Extra Rad Events in 2022. Since then we've worked with multiple clients including Challenge Wanaka, NDuro Events, Trademark Live, Audiology, Challenge Wānaka, FIFA Women's World Cup, and SB Events on World Triathlon and Supercars Christchurch. As a three-year strategic partner to the Christchurch Marathon, I led the event's growth from 4,000 to a record-breaking 8,500 participants.
Alongside the consultancy I've operated as CEO of event platform Blerter, sat on the board of the NZ Event Association, and was previously Chair of Achilles New Zealand.
I'm interested in events that want to grow, mature, and lead. If that's yours, let's talk.
